Cupcakes

The other day Madeline and I decided we would make cupcakes. Madeline loves to help with cooking. She is good about just sitting and watching, but really enjoys helping out whenever she can. I decided that she could help ice some of the cupcakes. How hard could that be, and they were just for fun cupcakes, it didn't matter if she ruined a few. Let's just say, she needs some work on her technique. Her approach to icing cupcake is to repeatedly stab the cupcake and generally create a mess. It was very funny to watch, and she seemed to have a really wonderful time.

Yummy! Pink icing!! :)
She's only (almost) 3 and already icing cupcake, so she will be better than the rest of us by the time she has all her fine motor skills! :)
Maybe try giving her a spatula (the kind you stir a bowl with, not the kind you flip pancakes with) to help spread it, and since it's not a small point, it will be harder for her to poke the cupcakes?? haha, who knows? I just know that I switched from using a knife to a spatula about a year or two ago, and I think it's way easier! :)

Just get the icing that comes out like cheese whiz. That is the easiest. What kind of cake is M having this year? or are you doing cupcakes?!?!?

awe Im sad I missed the cup cake fun. Last year M and I made cupecakes but that was when she didn't like loud noises. I mixed it by hand but she still stayed away because I was still using the mixer bowl. She has grown so much in the last year.
